March Newsletter

Welcome to the March edition of the CIBSE Certification newsletter.

Updating Work details

If you are changing employer or have already changed employer please email CIBSE Certification at epc@cibsecertification.org. Any change in details affects your record and register entry and emailing us enables us to check your record for compliance, please do not login to your CIBSE profile to update your records.

You would have received the Scheme Description Document for your registration strand on application which details the requirements, please email us if you require an up to date copy for the strand(s) that you are registered for.

EPC Conventions

We have seen a number of EPC models using ceiling voids as buffer space; this is an incorrect modelling practice.

Please ensure EPC Conventions issue 9 section 10.03 is strictly followed for modelling non-domestic EPCs.

Feedback from the Environment Agency on ESOS submissions

We are beginning to get more visibility of ESOS compliance reports submitted to the Environment Agency (EA) and as a result, we have feedback to provide to our registered ESOS Lead Assessors.

Based on what we have observed, there are many instances where ESOS Lead Assessors have entered their registration numbers incorrectly in the reporting system.

We would like to bring this to your attention and request that you are more careful and consistent when entering registration details in the system.

Lodgement credits

Please note that from 30 March 2026 we will be adjusting our standard lodgement credits rate to £30.00 plus VAT. The rate has remained unchanged since September 2020, in which time the cumulative increase in inflation is approximately 27.4%.

We do still offer competitive rates to high lodgers, so please do email us at epc@cibsecertification.org as necessary.

ACE Wizard on-site APP

We would like to inform our AC Inspectors who are using ACE Wizard as their preferred ACI software tool that the software has now launched an onsite APP which could help reduce the report writing time and the overall on-site surveying experience.

PEPA Webinar - Non-Domestic MEES

The Property Energy Professionals Association (PEPA), of which CIBSE Certification is an Executive Member, is holding an online webinar on non-domestic MEES on Friday 13 March at 12.00 -13.00.

The nondomestic MEES consultation has been left unanswered for four years creating uncertainty for assessors, landlords and clients. This webinar brings the industry together to relaunch pressure on the government, present new evidence on the economic and environmental case for MEES and equip assessors with the tools to engage with their MPs effectively.

For more details on attending the webinar please click here.
