Training for Commercial Energy Assessors (CEA)

Energy Performance Certificate Training (EPC)

• If you ARE already a CIBSE Low Carbon Consultant you must attend a one day top up course and examination run by CIBSE Professional Learning for EPCs (this link will take you to the course details on the main CIBSE website)
• If you ARE NOT already a CIBSE Low Carbon Consultant you will need to book a two day training course to join the LCC register (this link will take you to the course details on the main CIBSE website). This includes an examination and is available from CIBSE Services Ltd.
• Software Training - all Low Carbon Energy Assessors (LCEAs) who wish to produce EPCs must also demonstrate that they are competent in the use of an approved software tool to calculate the asset rating and produce the energy performance certificate and recommendations report for buildings...full details on the main CIBSE website here

NOTE: CIBSE operates accreditation based on the approval of prior experiential learning (APEL). This route is open to those with a minimum of two years substantial experience. If you do not have experience in a closely related field, you should consider taking an NVQ for which experience is not necessary.
